WORK WITH SHANE

Before You Remodel Your Backyard, You Need a Design That Deserves to Be Built.

A private design consultation for homeowners planning a high-end luxury outdoor living renovation—including pools, hardscapes, pergolas, fire features, decks, and porches—who want clarity, confidence, and an elegant, buildable plan before committing to construction.

This is not a free consultation.
This is the foundation of an exceptional outdoor environment.

Who this Design Engagement is (and is Not) for

This Is For You If:
  • You’re planning a high-end backyard or outdoor living remodel
  • Your project includes pools, hardscapes, pergolas, fire features,
decks, or porches
  • You want a cohesive outdoor environment—not isolated features
  • You care how the space looks from every vantage point
  • You value elegant, intentional design
  • You want clarity before committing to construction
  • You prefer working directly with the designer
This Is For You If:
  • You’re casually browsing ideas
  • You want quick quotes without design work
  • You’re price-shopping contractors
  • You’re looking for a free opinion or rough estimate

Positioning Statement: At this level, clarity is worth paying for.

THE PROBLEM THIS SOLVES

Most Backyard Remodels Go Wrong
Before Construction Ever Begins

Core Belief

An outdoor space is only as good as the plan behind it.

Not because of bad builders—but because
they start without:
  • A comprehensive design vision
  • Coordination between pools, hardscapes, structures, and landscape
  • Thoughtful placement of pergolas, fire features, decks, and porches
  • Spatial flow between outdoor living areas
  • Structural and site feasibility
  • Clear scope and accurate pricing
The result is often:
  • Outdoor spaces that feel pieced together
  • Features that compete instead of complement
  • Cost overruns and mid-project changes
  • Finished backyards that don’t feel cohesive or intentional
WHAT THIS CONSULTATION ACTUALLY IS

A Professional Design & Feasibility Engagement

This is not a sales call or a conceptual sketch.

During this engagement, I personally:

  • Design a luxury outdoor living environment specific to your property
  • Integrate pools, hardscapes, pergolas, fire features, decks, porches, and landscape
    elements into one cohesive composition
  • Consider how each element relates to the others—not in isolation
  • Study sightlines, symmetry, balance, and how the space is experienced
  • Analyze elevations, grading, and site constraints
  • Engineer structures and features correctly from the start
  • Define materials, features, and layout
WHY I LEAD THE DESIGN PERSONALLY

Design Philosophy

For me, outdoor design isn’t about filling space. It’s about how the entire environment is experienced—from every angle, at every moment of the day.

When I design a backyard, I’m thinking about how it looks from inside the house, from the patio, from the pool or spa, from under a pergola, beside a fire feature, or standing on a deck or porch. I’m thinking about sightlines, symmetry, balance, and how water, hardscape, structures, and landscape work together as one elegant, cohesive composition. Every element—whether it’s a pool, patio, pergola, fire feature, deck, or porch—is placed with intent.

Not to make things bigger or louder—but to make them feel right.

Too often, outdoor spaces are designed feature by feature, without considering how the entire property will actually be lived in. The result may look impressive from one direction, but disconnected everywhere else.

I lead the design personally because I care about the full environment—not just individual components. My goal is to create outdoor spaces that feel cohesive, considered, and elegant from every vantage point.
